Ron Paul responds to Rand controversy

“Nasty” and “mean” is how Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, described the media’s line of questioning used on his son, GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul, regarding the 1964 Civil Rights act. Rand Paul has given several interviews in recent days suggesting that he would not necessarily have supported applying the civil rights law to private property. Rand Paul has a Libertarian streak, as does his father, who told the Examiner Thursday that he is also a strong believer in private property rights but would not say whether he believed the civil rights law infringed on those rights.
